Description
"THE OLYMPIC VISION" Canada (silver) International Olympic Committee Centennial Coin Programme 1992-1996 The first coins of the series were issued by Canada. The Royal Canadian Mint struck three coins, one gold and two silver. The theme commemorated was "The Olympic Vision". What I have for sale is the 2 silver coins and the Olympic Centennial Silver Coin Album. The front of both coins show Elizabeth ll . Canada . D.G.Regina - 1992 - 15 Dollars and has the image of the Queen in the center. The edge of the coins has the words "Citius Altius Fortius". (1) The back of one coin shows an overlay of three sports: speed skating, high jump and gymnastics "rings". It has the mark DJC which stands for the artist David J. Craig. It also has the Olympics symbol with 1896-1996 below it. The mintage was 60,787. (2) The back of the other coin shows "Three generations standing on an athletics field with the older generations pointing the way to competition and Olympism to the younger generation". It has the mark SS which stands for the artist Stewart Sherwood. It also has the Olympics symbol with 1896-1996 below it. The mintage was 58,696. (3) The beautiful burgundy leather-like coin album which has 10 spaces for you to display the encapsulated coins is also included. (I only have 2 of the 10 coins) Metal: Silver Alloy 925 remainder copper Diameter: 40 mm Weights: 33.63 g Edge: "Citius Altius Fortius" Finish: Proof Denomination: 20 CAD or 15 US Dollars Original issue price: $46.95 (Each coin) I purchased these coins from Fleetwood in 1992. They have never been removed from the plastic encapsulated cover and have been stored in the album in a box in my closet since I purchased them. I feel that they are in mint condition. These would make a great addition to anyone's OLYMPIC COIN COLLECTION.
