NEGRO LEAGUE 1941 LEGENDS ALL-STAR BAT THAT HAS OVER 40 NEGRO ALL-STAR SIGNATURES ALL OVER THE BAT. I AM NOT SURE WHEN THE BAT WAS MADE OR SIGNATURES OBTAINED BUT THEY SEEM TO COVER EACH SIGNEES ATT-STAR GAME APPEARANCES FROM 1937-1950. THE BAT SOLD AT CHRISTIE'S AUCTION AS A FEATURED LOT IN 1994 (I AM INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL AUCTION CATALOG AS WELL TO COMPLETE THE PROVENANCE). THIS ONE OF A KIND BAT WAS HAND MADE BY LYMAN BOSTOCK SR. ( SIGNED AS SUCH) AND IS UNUSALLY SHAPED ( handle curves before straightening out which is most likely due to type of wood and curing). The bat is 35 inches long and was laquered ( I would guess to protect the signtures. Bostock hand carved his signature and the inscription below his name- Negro League Legends; East-West All Star Game; and 1941 hand written in aqua. I added a few more pictures but ask questions as well. Hard to get good pics even with a 5.0 digital camera. Signatures include COOL PAPA BELL, BUCK LEONARD, RAY DANDRIDGE, MINNIE MINOSO, LEON DAY, DOUBLE DUTY RATCLIFF, BUCK O'NEILL, BILL BRYD, WILD BILL WRIGHT, BOB HARVEY, BILL CASH, BUBBA HYDE, ANDREW PORTER AND TONS MORE IN VARIOUS COLOR SIGNATURES (pink, red, black, orange, blue, aqua, green) ALL OVER THIS UNIQUE BAT. I AM NOT SURE WHAT THE VALUE REALLY IS AS I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY BOOK AS WELL PRESERVED AND WITH SO MANY KEY AUTOGRAPHS IS TERRIFIC CONDITION BUT HAVE BEEN GIVEN A RANGE FROM SEVERAL DEALERS OF $40,000- 80,000 AND I SETTLED AT THE LOW END OF THE RANGE. IF IT DOES NOT SELL, I WILL BE HAPPY TO KEEP IT AS IT IS TRULY A RARE ITEM BY ANYONE'S STANDARDS.I have several other unbelievable signed pieces of Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Mantle, Williams and more. All of the pieces have COAs from Upper Deck, PSA, or GAI so there is absolutely no risk with any of these pieces.
