Description
This original art piece was created by a new art studio named Baseballcardstories. The studio has created several original art pieces that are handcrafted and made using only baseball cards. Every part of the art is a creative use of baseball cards. They are releasing this piece as their tribute to Yankee Stadium.Baseballcardstories art has several elements. First, they generate a story told through cards. Secondly they create a fun and different word description for each work. Then they create an artistic center that expresses the theme using only the baseball cards. The story is completed with a collage of player cards representing the history and originality of the work. This particular piece is named, “Built by Ruth, Home to Legions and The Playground of Legions”. It represents the history of Yankee Stadium from 1923-2008. The inside portion of the piece is 20 by 30 inches. The parts of the artistic interpretation are the famous facade, the existing top of the stadium walls, the world championship banner, and the original front of the building. The clock shows the time of 4:18 which is the date Yankee Stadium opened in 1923. Again, all of this was created using only baseball cards, glue and patience. The center piece is surrounded by the cards of events and players that made it a special icon for the country and world. The upper portion has a sublime three which is blended into the collage. Inside of the three are pictures of man that built the stadium, Babe Ruth. On the left and right sides are the subliminal letters N and Y. Inside of these are trading cards that show the stadium and players related to the opening in 1923. At the bottom portion of the work are the numbers 1-9-2-3. The year is filled in with players and staff from that time. Many cards were used, but the whole is often greater than the parts and that is certainly true with this work. The art piece measures 40 by 60 inches. It is offered framed in black molding and has a Plexiglas cover for protection. The total dimension framed measures 43 x 63 inches. There is so much history captured, that the piece can be studied for hours. The artists attempted to use only cards with Yankees but some of the colors required using other teams. Rest assured, no Boston cards where used on the work.Several photos have been used to assist you in getting a feel for the piece but I admit it is impossible to capture the true grandeur and size of the art through pictures. This is the only piece that we know of showing the entire baseball history of Yankee Stadium using the method. I don’t think Baseballcardstories will attempt another stadium of this size again. There is only one Yankee Stadium. This will be a great conversation piece in any setting. The studio has dreams that the piece will be donated to a gallery or sports museum that showcase and share the memories but that is up to the buyer. Baseballcardstories is giving a portion of the proceeds to baseball programs that assist underprivileged and disadvantaged youths.Baseballcardstories is also offering the framing and shipping in the continental U.S.A. at no additional charge. Since this is new for me to be selling unique art work I will only be able to accept payment by PayPal and will need payment within three days of the conclusion of the auction. The product will be shipped as soon as possible. Shipping will be limited to the United States. All sales final. This is truly unique and a real one of a kind work. The work to conceive the idea, the collection of the cards, the sorting, cutting and placement of the cards was enormous. The winner will have a work that everyone will envy. Fans of baseball, the stadium, the Yankees, baseball cards and art will all find this piece to be exciting. The people that have seen this work are speechless. Good luck on the bidding. If you have any questions, please contact me and I will respond quickly.More great news, Baseballcardstories is also releasing an additional work at this time.
